Crawley boss Sean O'Driscoll is believed to have been interviewed for the vacant Nottingham Forest manager's job.
O'Driscoll has emerged as a surprise contender to replace the sacked Steve Cotterill and held talks with Forest owners the Al-Hasawi family over the past few days.
Glenn Hoddle remains favourite to take over at the City Ground after Mick McCarthy ruled himself out of the running this week but could potentially be brought in as director of football with O'Driscoll as manager.
O'Driscoll would be a popular choice among Forest fans after helping turn the club's fortunes around last season when he arrived as assistant to Cotterill in January.
The 55-year-old former Doncaster and Bournemouth boss signed a one-year rolling contract at Crawley in May.
