Inigo Calderon insists he is keeping his sights set on a second Championship season with Albion – and shrugged off talk of a move to one of their rivals.

The goalscoring right-back is interesting Bristol City, Huddersfield and Leeds according to reports.

Calderon was aware of interest in his services but, speaking from his native northern Spain, said: “All I know is what I read on the website.

“I more or less knew when I left England that there were different clubs scouting or monitoring me. I didn’t know the names.

“It’s normal in the summer that players are linked with other teams. It’s good for the newspapers!

“Lots of clubs monitor lots of players but I have one more year left with Brighton and I am really happy there.

“Of course I am pleased about this interest in me because it’s a good sign but I am under contract.

“If I was to leave it would have to be something really good and it’s too soon to talk about that because there is nothing on the table.”

Calderon is currently the only specialist right-back on the Seagulls’ books but he is looking forward to seeing who signs this summer.

He said: “I’m really excited to see which players will come to make us stronger. I’m like a fan, really eager to find out who is coming and who will be in the team.”
