Crawley could resurrect their interest in striker Lewis Grabban.

Reds agreed a fee with Rotherham United for the 24-year-old ten days ago only for talks with the former Crystal Palace goalscorer to break down last Tuesday over personal terms.

Grabban remains keen to leave the Millers though and the chance to step up to League One and return to his south London home remains attractive.

Rotherham boss Steve Evans believes a deal can still be done for a player who scored 21 goals last season but admits Reds could face competition for his signature.

The former Crawley boss said: “Lewis could not agree terms with Crawley but they are still very keen so perhaps that may reignite itself.

“Sean O’Driscoll is a big admirer of the lad but I know there needs to be some movement on both sides if he is to join them.

“Lewis has told me he would like to move back nearer home in south London if that is possible. There is firm interest from other southern based clubs so let us see where it lands.”

Crawley completed their first signing of the summer on Saturday when goalkeeper Paul Jones joined on a two-year deal from Peterborough United.
