Pablo Mills has been around for too long to panic about being released.

But the experienced defender admits he will always have fond memories of Crawley as he looks to continue his Football League career The former captain is one of six players released by Reds in the wake of their promotion from League Two.

He has experienced some fabulous highs, and a few recent lows, and reckons it can all help him continue in League One or Two.

Mills said: “I’ve been in the game a long time but two promotions on the CV will hopefully do me some good.

“That’s without mentioning Old Trafford and the two cup runs.

“I’ll be 28 at the end of the month. I see myself as an experienced player who is more than capable of playing in League Two or League One.

“I’m quite a few years from retiring and I’ll work as hard as I can.”

Mills initially had a loan stint at Crawley in 2007 and joined full-time on a free transfer two years ago.

He said: “I’ve been in this situation before. It’s not something that worries me.

“My time here has been fantastic. It was a building thing. All the players have come together and made history.

“We have really put Crawley on the map and I couldn’t have wished for a better time.

“Hopefully they keep pushing on and the whole structure moves forward.

“League One will be even harder. You have got teams from the Championship who don’t want to stay down there too long.
