Eastbourne No.1 Joonas Kylmakorpi last night feared his season was over after aggravating a shoulder injury.

The Finn underwent a fitness test at Polish track Rzeszow on Saturday and was named for the following day's meeting against Torun.

That match was rained off - but Kylmakorpi would have been struggling anyway after feeling the after-effects of Saturday's spin.

He was last night heading for X-rays on the shoulder he first damaged at King's Lynn in March.

Kylmakorpi said: "I did about 20 laps on Saturday with injections in my shoulder and I didn't feel anything.

"It would have been very hard to have ridden in the meeting (yesterday) so I was glad it was off.

"I just hope nothing is broken. It would be disastrous. It would be the end of the season for me."

Kylmakorpi was due to make his Eastbourne comeback at Belle Vue today but that meeting has already been postponed.

Eagles go to Swindon on Thursday and his Swedish track race tomorrow.

Kylmakorpi insists he was not rushed back by Rzeszow.

He said: "I had been feeling pretty good before the practice started. It's always different when you get on the bike, though, with all the vibration."
