Gary Dicker admits Albion are facing a massive game at Ipswich after a pair of home slip-ups.
The Seagulls go to Portman Road on Saturday aiming to bounce back from a draw with Leeds and defeat to Crystal Palace in games they led until the closing stages.
Dicker insists Albion were bitterly disappointed after the Palace defeat.
The midfielder admitted: “We’ve got a game on Saturday and it’s even bigger now. We need a result massively.
“We need to win or else we will start falling behind in this league because nobody waits around for you.”
Dicker admits Albion need to tighten up after leaking three goals to both Leeds and Palace.
They will make at least one change at the back as Lewis Dunk serves a one-game ban.
Dicker said: “We need to stop conceding so many goals as a group.
“It’s not just the goalkeeper and the lads at the back. It’s everyone.”
He added: “It’s a tough division but we are making it tough for ourselves. We are not helping ourselves with the way we stop playing.
“Then when we are on top we need to score more goals and create more chances.
“We’re making it hard for ourselves and the sooner we stop doing that the sooner we’ll get back to winning.”
