Paul Raynor insists it would take “silly money” for Crawley to sell any of their players.

Assistant boss Raynor has revealed Reds have received numerous enquires from rival clubs interested in signing their star names before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Reds have made a flying start to life in League Two with seven points out of nine and could go top of the table with victory at Torquay United tomorrow.

The manner of the way they have made the step up to the Football League after winning the Conference title last season has had scouts flocking to Broadfield Stadium to watch the likes of Matt Tubbs, Kyle McFadzean and Sergio Torres.

Raynor is adamant no one will be leaving though, unless they receive an offer which is simply too good to turn down and is hopeful Crawley could still do business of their own before the window closes.

He said: “There are phone calls all the time making enquiries about our players but we expect that with the way we have started the season. We don’t welcome them but we understand that is what happens when you are successful.

“We make enquiries about players at other clubs so we can’t moan about clubs making enquiries about our players. We are honest with the board and keep them informed of any offers we get and we are delighted they have backed us 100% so far in both bringing in the players we have targeted and also keeping the existing players here.

“We want to keep our best players and are not anticipating anybody leaving before the window closes. The only way that would change is if somebody offered silly money.”
