Mark McGhee today revealed Albion have had no contact from Wolves about signing Colin Kazim-Richards.

The Coca-Cola Kid has been tentatively linked with a move to Molineux, where new boss Mick McCarthy wants to bolster his strike force.

McGhee, though, insists there has been no offer made for the 19-year-old.

The Albion manager said: "I don't know anything about this.

"There is no mileage in discussing it until anbody makes an offer.

"It just fuels speculation and unsettles the boy."

Kazim-Richards was on target in a friendly win at Colchester on Tuesday and is likely to get playing time tonight as an Albion XI visit Crawley Town.

Alex Revell and Joe Gatting are also scheduled to play, as are youngsters Tom Fraser, Scott Chamberlain and Paul Hinshelwood.

Michel Kuipers and Wayne Henderson again look set to share goalkeeping duties.

McGhee said the Seagulls were making progress in attempts to raid the loan market to ease their defensive injury worries.

He said: "We've spoken to people and we have one or two possibilities."

Albion are awaiting feedback from Watford on out-of-favour winger Albert Jarrett, who is on trial with the Hornets and scored against non-league Northwood.

Alexis Nicolas, released by Albion at the end of last season, will not be playing against them on the first day of the season. He has failed to earn a deal while on trial at Rotherham.
