Liam Marum has been given a second chance to earn a deal with Albion after making an impression in front of goal.
The former Reading youngster is training with the Seagulls in France and could get playing time against non-league RC Port du Havre at Gonfreville today (5pm).
Albion originally decided not to take Marum to France but changed their mind at the last minute after he capped a decent display at Bognor on Saturday with a well-taken goal.
Albion assistant manager Bob Booker said: "We had a look at him at Bognor and we had a couple of spare places on the trip so we're giving him another week.
"He took his goal well but we've only really seen him for 45 minutes of football."
Albion did most of their hard work in early morning and the evening yesterday as temperatures in the middle of the day hit 35C.
They are likely to get through most of their squad in today's friendly although Guy Butters, Joel Lynch and Adam Hinshelwood all have niggles.
Meanwhile, reports from Hull suggest the Tigers remain interested in wide man Martin Brittain, despite their signing of Spurs prospect Dean Marney.
Seagulls boss Mark McGhee said: "We are waiting for an answer from Hull and from Martin as to what he does next. He knows we are interested and he knows we want him to come back. We are not complete yet.
"Whatever happens we are still looking very hard for that target centre forward and for one or two others."
