Albion have completed the signing of Bulgarian international Radostin Kishishev on a one-year deal.
The vastly experienced 35-year-old has been with the Seagulls throughout pre-season after getting in touch with boss Gus Poyet, with whom he worked at Leeds.
His performances in two friendlies to date have only underlined Poyet's belief that he would be worth taking on.
Poyet said: "He is an excellent professional and has kept himself in superb shape throughout his career.
"His quality is obvious, there is no doubt about that but we had to be sure about his fitness. But he has proved that age is no barrier.
"That experience and quality will bring a lot to the team and will also help our younger players in their development."
Kishishev has 88 international caps and can play various on-field roles, including midfield and both full-back berths.
He has considerable experience of English football thanks to stints at Charlton, in their Premiership days, Leeds and Leicester.
