Diego Arismendi was shown a straight red card as Albion drew 0-0 at MK Dons today.
The Uruguayan looked unfortunate to record the Seagulls' 11th dismissal of the season when he was dismissed with Alex Rae.
A dull first period exploded into life on the half-time whistle as the pair clashed on the MK Dons byline.
They tussled as players from both rushed to join in the melee.
Referee Oli Langford checked with an assistant, then recalled Arismendi as he made his way to the tunnel.
The Uruguayan was shown red and Rae followed.
Dons twice hit the woodwork in the first half.
Luke Chadwick clipped the top of the bar from outside the box and Charlie Collins smacked a shot against the post.
Other than that, though, it was an untroubled afternoon for an Albion back line including debutant Lewis Dunk.
The teenager, who signed his first professional deal this week, was superb alongside Tommy Elphick.
It was Elphick who offered Albion's best threat late on with a long range drive which was deflected narrowly wide.
Gavin Hoyte had a mis-hit effort pushed away by keeper Stuart Searle but it was generally drab fare.
Youth team midfielder Jake Caskey was among the unused subs.
Nicky Forster's stepson haas agreed a two-year scholarship with the Seagulls despite interest from other clubs.
