GLENN Murray has backed Albion to build on their performances against the top two teams in League One at fourth-placed Charlton tomorrow night.
Saturday’s frustrating 1-1 draw at Leeds followed an agonising 2-1 defeat at home to leaders Norwich, in which the Seagulls led 1-0 with ten minutes left.
Murray, now on 12 goals this season after his penalty at Elland Road, said: “It’s another big test but we are thoroughly looking forward to it after the last two games, even though we have come out of them with a defeat and a draw.
“We have pushed teams that maybe shouldn’t be in our division but are. Of course that gives us confidence.
“If we keep playing that way and get a bit of luck then hopefully results will start turning for us.”
Substitute Robert Snodgrass equalised for Leeds deep into stoppage time to deny Murray the satisfaction of being the match-winner.
He said: “I thought we’d have all three points last week as well after 80 minutes. You look at the clock and the board goes up and you think they have thrown everything at you but that is what teams like that do.
“Good teams play badly and still get something out of it. They managed to do it at Orient as well last week so it shows the character of their players.”
Murray led the attack on his own to great effect and will have no complaints if Albion play a 4-5-1 system again at The Valley tomorrow night.
“It’s always nice to play with someone up there,” he added. “It takes the pressure off you but I enjoyed playing that way as well.
“Micky Adams used to do it every now and again. I was told to keep the two centre-halves occupied.”
