Albion hope to tie-up a double deal today as they plot their ascent of the League One table.
Manager Gus Poyet has been in talks with Peter Brezovan, currently playing for the Seagulls on a short-term deal, and on-loan right back Gavin Hoyte.
Both were already committed to the Seagulls until midnight on Saturday, making them eligible for the FA Cup tie at Torquay whatever happens.
Poyet is confident both will stay on after that.
The Seagulls boss said: “I don’t want to say too much until it is all 100% but I’m pleased with both of them.”
Hoyte has been with the Seagulls since early October so any new loan would have to go through until the end of the season.
Poyet could also opt to offer Brezovan, a keeper he rates highly from their time together at Swindon, a contract for the rest of the campaign The transfer window opens at midnight and business can continue until 5pm on February 1.
Meanwhile defender James Tunnicliffe is available for the Plainmoor trip after missing Monday’s spectacular 5-2 win over Wycombe.
Tunnicliffe was reported to have suffered aches and pains after the Boxing Day draw with Leyton Orient. Poyet said: “It was just a problem of two games in a short period of time.
“It wasn’t injury, it wasn’t because of form.”
The Torquay tie is no longer all-ticket for Albion fans.
Meanwhile, the League One trip to Stockport, originally scheduled for this Saturday, will take place on Tuesday, January 26 (7.45pm).
