Striker Nicky Forster has urged Albion to go on a run after their four-point festive haul took them out of the drop zone.

Forster scored one and was heavily involved in a four-goal supershow for strike partner Glenn Murray as the Seagulls won 5-2 at Wycombe on Monday.

They are now clear of the bottom four on goals scored ahead of a break in League One action due to the FA Cup third round.

Forster was delighted to see the goals fly in and said: “It was perhaps long overdue. We’ve played well in patches but not got the result.

“We’ve got to get out of trouble. Although we were disappointed on Boxing Day, it means we are now two games unbeaten.

“We’re starting to possibly put a run together and get ourselves out of the bottom four.

“Games can drift away from you. There are 22 games left.

“Soon there will be 15, then ten, then five and you get must-win games like the end of last season.

“You don’t want a repeat of that.”

Forster relished Albion’s powerful second-half show at Wycombe and the ecstatic reaction it got from fans packed behind the goal.

He added: “Muzza can do that. He is a predator in and around the box.

“His quality is there. I think he knows he just needs to get that consistency a little bit more.

“He took his goals really well and deserved the match ball.

“I thought the pair of us worked well. The third goal epitomised that. The ball came into the box and I’ve hooked it over for the header.

“That understanding was there, which is good. We need that.

“The support was fantastic as well. They get behind us and it was good to see us interacting with them.

“Although Muzza got a yellow card from it, was good to see that inter-action when we scored and we went to them and they surged forward.

“I think the fans loved that and the players love it as well.”
