Glenn Murray hailed the best moment of his Albion career so far after sinking Wycombe with a four-goal blast.

Murray hit his first senior hat-trick when the Seagulls drew 3-3 at home to Cheltenham in October last year.

But he rated his historic blitz at Adams Park yesterday as his finest day yet in Albion colours.

The 26-year-old became the first player since Alex Dawson at Hartlepool in February 1969 to score four goals for Albion in an away match.

Bryan Wade was the last Albion player to score four, at home to Newcastle in 1991, and Murray, who also netted twice at Wycombe in the FA Cup in November, certainly enjoyed his moment.

He said: “I would like to play every game against them, especially away.

“It isn’t every afternoon you score a hat-trick let alone four so it is special. It is only my second hat-trick but it is my first four.

“My first hat-trick was against Cheltenham but this one outdoes that, without a doubt.”
