Cameron Woodward has agreed terms to return to Eastbourne Eagles for a fifth season.
The return of the popular Australian racer leaves just one reserve berth unfilled for 2010.
Eagles hope that spot will go to Russian star Denis Gizatullin provided he completes work permit fomalities.
Woodward’s hit-and-miss 2009 season meant his average slipped slightly to a potentially bargain 5.33, which alerted other Elite League tracks.
Swindon are believed to have been interested in the 24-year-old from Victoria.
Eagles team manager Trevor Geer said: “There was interest but we weren’t going to release him.
“He is due for a really good season.
“We’ve got to look after him and point him in the right direction in terms of machinery and he will improve again.”
Eagles have confirmed David Norris will stage a farewell meeting at Arlington next year, possibly in May.
However they already have their first fixture clash of the season after Slovenia and Finland were drawn to race in the first World Cup meeting of the season on Saturday, May 1.
Eagles’ new No. 1 Matej Zagar is Slovenia’s team captain while Joonas Kylmakorpi could race for the Finns.
Eastbourne do not make their contentious switch to Thursday racing until mid-May, when tapes-up time will go back 15 minutes to 7.45pm.
Adult admission prices are going up by £1 to £16 for the coming season.
Other prices are £14 for concessions, £5 for children aged 6-15 and £40 for a family ticket (two adults, two children). Children under six go free.
Season tickets, covering all Elite League and Knockout Cup fixtures but not play-offs or Norris’ farewell, cost £280 for adults, £240 for concessions and £115 for children aged 6-15.
Family season tickets (two adults and two children) are £700.
There is a £15 discount on all season ticket prices except the family ticket for applications received by January 31.
Season tickets can be ordered by calling Shona at dugard.com (01273-732286) or by e-mailing SalesP@dugard.co.uk.
