Gus Poyet is expecting a fond reception from the home fans on his return to Swindon with Albion tomorrow.
Poyet launched his managerial career at the County Ground three years ago as assistant to Dennis Wise.
They lost only three matches out of 17 and set Swindon up for promotion from League Two before leaving for Leeds.
Poyet said of the supporters: “I had a great relationship with them. They know why we had to change, it was a big jump from League Two to the Championship.
“It softened the blow, because they still went up. The foundations and everything you need to do in pre-season and the first few games were in place for them.
“It was a very special three or four months, a great time for me, the way we started the season.
“It’s going to be nice to go there and nice to see a few people. We had great times together but I need to go there and get the three points.”
Albion’s coach driver will need a good sense of direction. The County Ground is approached via a confusing roundabout system.
Poyet joked: “It is going to bring back good memories, especially seeing the ‘magic roundabout’ before getting to the stadium. Let’s see if we can get through it on the bus!”
