Peter Brezovan has admitted he did not see eye to eye with former Albion favourite Danny Wilson.
But the towering Slovakian goalkeeper insists there will be no hard feelings when he returns to the County Ground tomorrow with the Seagulls to face Wilson’s Swindon.
Fortunes fluctuated for Brezovan with the Wiltshire outfit, his first English club.
He excelled under Dennis Wise and Albion boss Gus Poyet after Wise picked him out of 30 goalkeepers at a camp in Crewe but then suffered a bad injury just before they left for Leeds.
Paul Sturrock awarded him a two-year contract and Brezovan had a two-day trial with Everton before battling for the No. 1 spot with ex-Crawley custodian Phil Smith under both Sturrock and Maurice Malpas.
Brezovan was in and out of the team once Wilson took charge a year ago. His cause was not helped by being partly responsible for the penalty from which two-goal Nicky Forster sealed Albion’s victory at Swindon last Christmas.
The 30-year-old returns to the County Ground tomorrow for the first time since featuring in Swindon’s 1-1 draw against MK Dons back in March.
He said: “I played very well when I went there and then I broke my arm so I was off for nine months.
“That was frustrating and, when I came back, we played well and badly.
“I didn’t get on very well with the manager (Wilson). He wasn’t really into me so he decided I should leave but I don’t want to blame him or anyone else. His ideas were different, so I left.
“It will be a strange feeling tomorrow. I played there for three years and I am going back to play against my friends. It is going to be weird but I am looking forward to it."
