Crawley stopped the rot after four games without a win with a 2-0 home win over Histon at the Broadfield Stadium tonight.
They left it late with both goals coming in the last three minutes but on the balance of play was no more than they deserved.
Kieran Djilali, who is on loan from Crystal Palace, created both goals to cap an excellent second-half performance.
His pass on 87 minutes allowed Chris Carruthers to run on and smash an unstoppable left-foot shot past Craig Naisbitt into the top corner.
And in the third minute of stoppage time Djilali's unselfish pass allowed substitute Jefferson Louis to score his second goal of the season with a tidy side-foot finish into the bottom corner.
Charles Ademeno and Sam Rents both forced Histon goalkeeper Craig Naisbitt to save at full stretch in the first half.
Reds ran out of steam for a while after the break when Histon went close through Josh Simpson and Michael Frew.
But they produced a rousing late effort to pick up three welcome points.
Boss Steve Evans said: "It was win we desperately needed but one we deserved although with 15 minutes to go we felt the goal was never going to come.
"Their goalkeeper had one of those nights and i thought it was going to take something special to beat him but I felt we dominated a side who were well organised and hit us on the break."
