New signing Calum Willock was thrown straight into the Crawley side for tonight's Blue Square premier clash at home to Histon.
The 27-year-old striker has signed a short-term deal for injury-hit Reds and comes with a wealth of Football League experience having played for Fulham, QPR, Bristol Rovers, Peterborough, Brentford and Port Vale.
Last season Willock scored six times in 38 appearances for Stevenage before being released. He spent pre-season with AFC Wimbledon but was not taken on despite scoring two goals in a friendly against Fulham.
Willock partnered fit-again Charlie Ademeno up front while there was a boost at the back for Reds with Karl Broadhurst fit to partner Adam Quinn in the centre after recovering from a virus.
With Thomas Pinault fit enough to start Steve Evans made four changes to the team beaten 2-0 by York City on Saturday.
Sussex-born Matt Langston lined up in the heart of Histon's defence.
