Reserve Ricky Kling has told Eastbourne he is fit, well and ready bounce back to form.
Kling’s four pointless rides away to his parent club Lakeside on Friday capped a miserable trio of recent meetings. Eagles need a big improvement tonight as they host Coventry Bees in the Elite League (7.30pm).
They are missing Daniel Nermark, who has a back muscle problem. Paul Hurry gets the guest booking.
Eagles team manager Trevor Geer said: “I’ve had a word with Ricky and he is determined to put on a show.
“He has been feeling rough lately but he assures me he’s good now.”
Eagles have won just one of 14 meetings since their 49-41 defeat of Coventry in June. Bonus-point wins tonight and at home to Ipswich on September 19 will ensure their Elite League survival.
Simon Gustafsson scored six points as captain as Sweden came third in the World Team Cup final for under-21s on Saturday. Gustafsson, however, is doubtful for tonight after suffering a hip injury in Poland yesterday.
Eagles: Watt, Gustafsson (or r/r), Bridger, Woodward, Dryml, Hurry, Kling.
Coventry: Harris, Barker, Allen, Kennett, Schlein, Wells, Frampton.
