Skipper Adam Quinn made his first appearance of the season but Crawley were still badly hit by injuries for today's trip to York City.
Quinn hasn't played since hurting his calf in Reds' final pre-season friendly of the season but he returned to the heart of the defence in place of Karl Broadhurst, who was ruled out by a virus.
Reds were also without goalkeeper Nick Jordan who was only fit enough for the bench because of a thigh problem while Thomas Pinault, who is still not fully recovered from a back problem, and Lewis Killeen dropped to the bench.
Steve Evans made four changes in all to the side beaten 3-0 by Luton on Tuesday with on-loan Adam Barton making his first start in midfield.
Simon Rusk returned at rightback against his former club but Chris Giles, Charles Ademeno, Glenn Wilson were still absent.
