Michel Kuipers believes Albion have proved they have the appetite for a battle.
The Seagulls overcame a rocky start and an early deficit to draw 1-1 at Millwall on Friday.
It was only their second point of the season and came largely thanks to Nicky Forster's 70th-minute equaliser.
Results yesterday leave Albion back in 23rd place ahead of next Saturday's home fixture with Wycombe.
Kuiepers, whose excellent saves from Gary Alexander (twice) and Jimmy Abdou helped clinch a point, said: "The resilience was the biggest thing to come out of the game for us.
"We had our backs against the wall for periods of the game but we didn't give in.
"We stood firm and battled ourselves out of it.
"After we did that we were good enough to string a lot of passes together and be dangerous ourselves.
He added: "It was a fair result because they had a few good opportunities but we looked dangerous on the break."
Wycombe came from a goal down to beat Bristol Rovers 2-1 and move two points ahead of Albion.
Russell Slade's men remain a point behind Tranmere, who crashed 4-0 at home to Charlton.
