Eastbourne chief Bob Dugard is convinced his team can stay clear of relegation danger.

But he admits they could do with a win over title-chasing Wolverhampton tomorrow (7.30pm) to ease any nerves.

Eagles are eight points clear of bottom-placed Belle Vue with six meetings left.

With Ipswich and Poole both showing signs of life in the bottom three and Eagles down to seventh after last night’s defeat, there are some concerns.

The arrival of Jason Crump could yet inspire a revival at Belle Vue, who still have three of their meetings against Ipswich to come.

Dugard, who is stepping down at the end of the season, said: “Let’s get through this year the best we can and try not to drop any further. It might need us to beat Wolves.

“I don’t have any real relegation concerns. Belle Vue and Poole both have mountains to climb. Ipswich look the most improved side at the moment.”

The bottom side in the Elite League face a two-leg showdown with a Premier League track to decide their status for next season.

Wolves survived that nailbiter last year and have gone on to become genuine title challengers.

Their top two of Freddie Lindgren and Peter Karlsson inspired a thrilling win at Eastbourne earlier this season with Tai Woffinden and Adam Skornicki also among their threats.

Eagles expect to have Lukas Dryml back in action after he missed last night’s trip to Swindon due to the after effects of a spill in Poland recently.

Eagles: Bridger, Gustafsson, Watt, Woodward, Dryml, Kling, Nermark.

Wolverhampton: Lindgren, Klindt, Woffinden, Skornicki, Karlsson, Kerr, Proctor.
