Eastbourne Eagles welcome new boy Daniel Nermark to their line-up at leaders Swindon tonight.
But they will still be running the dreaded rider-replacement for at least one more meeting.
Eagles hoped to track a full seven-man side for the first time since the home defeat of Swindon on May 11 when they go to Blunsdon tonight (7.30pm).
Instead Czech star Lukas Dryml has pulled out still suffering the effects of a recent spill in Poland.
Simon Gustafsson, in his first meeting in the top five, can take one of Dryml's rides.
Cameron Woodward is also eligible for an extra outing and the other two must be shared by Nermark and fellow reserve Ricky Kling.
Dryml expects to return for Saturday's attractive looking Arlington clash against second-placed Wolverhampton.
Eagles team manager Trevor Geer said: “It’s a shame Lukas can’t ride this time but we're glad to have that seventh rider at last.
“Running with six means if one rider is off form it throws the whole thing in jeopardy.”
Swindon have had 12 wins, all with a bonus point, in 13 home fixtures which means Eastbourne, with just one away win all season, have to temper any optimisim with caution.
Geer, whose side have not raced for almost four weeks, added: “To come away with a point would be fantastic.”
Swindon: Adams, McGowan, Pavlic, Stead, Zagar, Hurry, Lemon.
Eagles: Bridger, Gustafsson, Watt, Woodward, Dryml r/r, Kling, Nermark.
