Crawley made it three straight Blue Square premier wins after Jamie Cook's goal secured a 1-0 victory at Cambridge United.
Cook got on the end of Ben Smith's pass in the 24th minute and produced a calm finish to score for the third successive game.
Delighted boss Steve Evans said: "We won 5-0 here in the FA Trophy last season but we probably played better tonight.
"In the second half we got into some great positions to punish them with a second goal and restricted them to one effort on goal in the 95th minute. Defensively we were outstanding and always looked a threat."
The home side had threatened early on with Robbie Willmott going closest with a 14th-minute free kick which hit the corner of post and bar.
But Reds defended outstandingly to protect their lead and could have extended it on the break in the second half. Charles Ademeno hit the post on 59 minutes and Ben Smith and Barry Cogan had late opportunities while at the other end Simon Rayner was rarely extended as the visitors defended with imprssive resillience.
