LLOYD Owusu was determined to be Albion’s scoring saviour once more, after dropping his team-mates in it.

He gave possession away cheaply to launch Huddersfield’s second goal at the Galpharm Stadium on Saturday.

The experienced target man responded with his sixth goal in as many games to earn another precious point for the Seagulls in their fight to beat the drop.

Owusu, the celebrating inspiration behind our ‘Raise the Roof’ campaign, admitted: “I gave the ball away near the halfway line. I left Lofty (Doug Loft) a bit short.

“As a striker I know what I have got to do, try to make amends for that, and I believe I did.

“No striker wants to give the ball away. You want to retain it to give the midfield and back four a breather."

Owusu’s partner Calvin Andrew, on for the injured Gary Hart, had earlier headed Albion level after missing a sitter.

Owusu said: “There are four or five quality strikers at the club and the one thing about all of us is we don’t hide. We keep going until we get a goal.

“Going away from home to get a draw, we probably would have taken that before the game, although we had a few chances to win.”

Now Owusu is urging supporters to play their part again in Saturday's relegation decider against Stockport at Withdean.

He said: "I am sure there will be a great atmosphere. We are at home and with the fans behind us we will hopefully get the three points we need to stay up."
