Russell Slade hailed a two-goal supershow by Lloyd Owusu as Albion climbed to within a point of 20th place this afternoon.
But the Seagulls boss struck a note of caution after the 3-1 defeat of mid-table Oldham at Withdean.
Owusu scored in each half and also set up a Dean Cox goal and Slade said of his centre forward: "His contribution was immense.
"It has to continue that way because we only have three games and we are still in the bottom four. That's the reality.
"We got off on the front foot, we put them under a little bit of pressure.
"It's all about attitude sometimes. If you get the attitude right then you get the performance.
"Certainly our attitude and the tempo at which we went at Oldham in thr first period brought us our reward."
Albion have won three of their last four games and Slade added: "I'm obviously very pleased with the result.
"It was a must-win sitituation for us and I thought we deserved the result, particularly with our first-half performance."
The Seagulls boss had praise for Gary Hart, whose high-energy display included the assist for Owusu's first goal, saying: "He has done that every time I've seen him play, even in the reserves or in training."
