Boss Russell Slade has warned his Albion side to expect no gifts in their relegation battle.
The Seagulls host mid-table Oldham on Saturday, the second of five fixtures against sides with nothing to play for with which they end their campaign.
Slade’s men brushed aside the first of them at Colchester on Monday.
The Latics head south having not won in nine games, the last six of which have been under the management of Joe Royle.
Until that slump they were serious play-off contenders and Slade said: “They are a dangerous animal.
“Nobody will roll over for us, no matter what their league position. We are going to have to earn the right to stay up, I’m under no illusions about that.
“When we win a game, my target is just to win the next one with the situation we are in.”
Midfielder Gary Dicker suffered a dead leg at Colchester but Albion are hopeful he will rejoin training tomorrow at the latest.
Jason Jarrett and Chris Birchall are both back in training after illness and the club will assess Al Bangura as he recovers from chickenpox.
Oldham expect to recall former Albion loanee Ian Westlake to their squad after he recovered from concussion.
Westlake, who was part of the Seagulls’ play-off push this time last year, moved to Boundary Park recently on loan from Cheltenham.
He signed a six-month deal for the Robins in January and celebrated by scoring against Albion but then, like striker Lloyd Owusu, was off-loaded as part of cost-cutting measures.
Defenders Colin Hawkins and Adam Hinshelwood played the full 90 minutes for an Albion Reserves side beaten 2-0 at QPR yesterday.
