Russell Slade has admitted today's defeat by Swindon was his lowest point as Albion boss.

The Seagulls led through Adam Virgo's first-half strike but conceded three goals between the 47th and 58th minutes as Robins front duo Simon Cox and Billy Paynter ran riot.

They eventually lost 3-2 as Gary Dicker grabbed a late goal.

Slade said: "That's as sick as I've felt, to be honest, in a long time. It's a disappointed changing room.

"We didn't cope with their front two in the early period of the second half.

"We coped very well in the first period but for ten or 15 minutes they caused us a lot of problems.

"Collectively, defensively, we've got to take responsibility for that."

Slade admitted he was stunned by events in the opening period of the second half.

He added: "You say all the right things (at half-time) to keep them on their toes but we didn't even take the kick-off right, did we?

"They are at us and we've got to learn to deal with things like that.

"We were under no illusions they were going to have a go at us and the first 20 minutes after half-time were going to be massive to us. They hurt us in that period."

Albion are six points adrift of safety with five games to go but Slade insists his side can still stay up.

He said: "It's a massive blow, I can't tell you how big, but losers will say down on the floor.

"I'm not a loser, I'll get up and I'll fight.

"My players have got to get up and fight as well.

"While there is still light at the end of the tunnel we have to battle on."
