Albion will have some cause for concern ahead of their clash against Leicester City on Sunday.
The Seagulls travel to the East Midlands this weekend after their away trip to Fulham on Thursday.
The match did appear to be one that Albion would be looking to up three points in, but the arrival of Ruud van Nistelrooy will raise eyebrows.
The Dutchman commanded the Foxes to a victory over Julen Lopetegui's West Ham at the King Power Stadium.
Jamie Vardy gave the hosts the lead inside two minutes before Bilal El Khannouss doubled the lead in the second half and Patson Daka wrapped up the result to make it 3-0.
The scoreline could be seen as a generous one for the hosts as the Hammers dominated the possession and created a plethora of chances.
The likes of Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus, Crysencio Summerville and Tomas Soucek were all denied goals to get their side back into the match.
Niclas Füllkrug did get one back for the Hammers in the 92nd minute, but by then, the damage was done for the East London side.
The result means that Van Nistelrooy is still yet to lose a match in English football, having not lost any of his four games in charge of Manchester United following the sacking of Erik ten Hag.
Fabian Hurzeler will be confident that Albion will create chances against the newly promoted side but will have to make sure the defence is on top form to stop what is looking like a clinical team.
The Albion manager will be looking at the Foxes' tactics, which included being incredibly deep into their own half for much of the game,
This could play into the hands of the likes of Joao Pedro, Georgino Rutter, Kaoru Mitoma and Danny Welbeck's ability to work their way through to goal.
Defensively, a high line against Leicester may not be the best idea with the pace they possess on the counter-attack.
