Georginio Rutter is deadly serious in his ambitions - despite the smile.

That is the verdict from Fabian Hurzeler as he plans a role for Albion’s record signing at Bournemouth.

The former Leeds man is expected to start as Premier League action resumes after the latest international break.

Rutter has been a cheerful character around the group but head coach Hurzeler said: “He doesn’t smile when he has to run in the training ground. Then he breathes a lot!

“So in general, this helps him.

“This character helps him to integrate quick in a new environment, in a new team and that also helps him to get connected as quickly as possible with his team-mates.

“He smiles a lot but he’s a hard worker and he wants to improve and I thinks that’s also the thing of social media.

“Of course, we only see the one positive side of things.

“I’m always saying social media is a little bit fake because you don’t see the whole truth.

“The truth is he is also has a character of working hard, of trying to be the best version of himself every day.

“Trying to come here and improve every day and that’s something that social media doesn’t show you, so I think that’s also part of the truth and shouldn’t be forgotten in our minds.”
