Fabian Hurzeler believes the “hype” over Carlos Baleba is justified.

But he says his midfielder has the mature personality which helps him deal with the attention.

Baleba is a contender to start at Bournemouth after his 45 minutes which changed the game at home to Manchester City.

He was withdrawn from international action and has been further recovering from a knee problem at Lancing.

Baleba enjoyed his part against City to the full but is also serious about making progress.

The likeness in some ways to Yves Bissouma, the midfielder he followed from African football to Albion via Lille, is an easy one to make.

Hurzeler said: “He's a fun character. Not only funny, he is mature for his age.

“No matter how the situation is, he has the courage to ask for the ball.

“He also has this intrinsic motivation to always get better.

“So in some ways he's acting funny and of course, a little bit like a child and he can do this.

“But, on the other side, in the right moments, he's very mature, he plays with a lot of courage and it's very important.

“The hype for him is justified. But, in the end, it's also our responsibility to build him in our environment, where we make sure that he stays grounded, where he stays focused on his work.

“And that's also our responsibility.”

There is no sign as yet as to when James Milner will be available.

Hurzeler said: “I can't give a clear schedule.

“The medical department, the physios, they work hard with him day to day, week to week, but I can't give the clear schedule as to when he will be back.

“It can be fast, it can take a little bit longer – I don't want to give any schedule or date as to when we'll see him back on the pitch.”
