Simon Adingra marked his nomination for African player of the year in style.
The Albion winger scored a fine goal as Ivory Coast beat Chad 4-0 in their final AFCON qualifying fixture.
Adingra is one of five players on the shortlist for CAN African player of 2024.
He kicked off the calendar year by helping his nation win AFCON on home turf.
Having missed the start of the competition due to injury, he grew in stature throughout the tournament.
He was named man of the match in the final, as well young player of the tournament.
He has also continued to make impressive progress in the Premier League with the Seagulls.
Former Charlton and Everton winger Ademola Lookman is also on the shortlist.
Lookman starred for Atalanta with a hat-trick in the final as they won the Europa League.
Guinea and Dortmund striker Serhou Guirarry has been nominated, along with Morocco and PSG full-back Achraf Hakimi and South Africa and Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.
Awards night takes place on Marrakech on December 16.
Adingra’s goal against Chad came when he cut inside from the right and curled a left-foot shot just inside the far post.
