Stuart Attwell will take charge of Albion – for the first time since a record away win.
The Nuneaton-based official has the middle for the game at Bournemouth on Saturday.
Premier League action resumes this weekend and refereeing appointments have been confirmed.
Attwell has twice been in the spotlight for incidents involving Seagulls winger Kaoru Mitoma in the past two seasons.
He was referee when Albion won 5-0 at Sheffield United last season, their biggest ever away success in the top flight.
Attwell eventually sent off United defender Mason Holgate for an awful challenge on Mitoma, with help from VAR.
Albion fans will also recall the foul on the Japan star by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg he did not spot in a controversial fixture at Tottenham two season ago.
The Seagulls came home with a list of complaints and referees chief Howard Webb apologised for the failure to award the spot-kick.
Holgate’s dismissal at Bramall Lane was one of five reds Attwell showed in 26 games last season.
This term, his eight matches have brought 34 yellows, plus a red for Southampton’s Jack Stephens.
His most recent fixture was the 0-0 draw between West Ham and Everton.
Graham Scott has VAR duties for the Vitality Stadium clash.
The full officiating team for Bournemouth v Albion is as follows.
Referee: Stuart Attwell. Assistants: Constantine Hatzidakis, Mat Wilkes. Fourth official: Sam Allison. VAR: Graham Scott. Assistant VAR: Eddie Smart.
