Horsham have been handed a challenging trip west in the Isuzu FA Trophy.

The third-round draw has sent the Isthmian Premier outfit to former EFL club Torquay United.

The Gulls are currently fourth in Vanarama National League south and recently came from behind to beat Worthing 2-1.

Horsham have enjoyed some exciting away trips in the FA Cup and the Plainmoor jaunt could add to that folklore.

Speaking after their win over Maidstone on Saturday, Hornets boss Dom Di Paola said: “I don’t know what it is but we just seem to enjoy cup competitions.”

Eastbourne Borough will visit their league rivals Boreham Wood and Worthing have a home tie against Gosport Borough.

The matches will be played on Saturday, December 7.

Horsham continue their defence of the Sussex Transport Senior Cup when they host Eastbourne Town on Tuesday.

Hassocks can go top of the Southern Combination with any sort of reward at Saltdean after their dramatic 2-1 win over Midhurst on Saturday took them level on points with Haywards Heath.
