Albion produced a second half to savour to secure a win over Manchester City having limited damage during a tame first 45.

They got great contributions off the bench and came up with a plan which outwitted an jaded looking away team.

This is how they performed as individuals within that all-round team effort.

Bart Verbruggen 8/10

Two saves in the first half became even more valuable as the comeback developed. Was also a bit unlucky on the goal he conceded and he had an impressive all-round display.

Joel Veltman 7/10

A solid part of the defensive unit which became more secure and less exposed as the game changed in the second half.

Jan Paul van Hecke 8/10

Was obviously given tough moments by Haaland, but ended up ahead on points in that duel. The other increasingly important side of his game is his passing from the back, an example of which was seen on the equalising goal.

Igor 8/10

A strong and sturdy ally to van Hecke in the counter-Haaland operation and continues to show real poise on the ball. Made an important second-half interception, albeit after playing City onside in the first place.

Pervis Estupinan 8/10

Appeared to be in for a tough time against Savinho but got on top of that and defended particularly well at 2-1 up. Remains an attacking threat and his cross for Hinshelwood deserved a goal.

Jack Hinshelwood 6/10

Should have scored with the header in an improved second half having found things tough in midfield in the opening 45.

Yasin Ayari 5/10

An educational 45 minutes City were hard to pass through. He never hid from the ball but two losses of possession led to his yellow card and (less directly) the Haaland goal.

Simon Adingra 6/10

Brought into the starting XI but did not offer a huge threat.

Georginio Rutter 6.5/10

A header over the bar was his final touch. Like a few, we only started to see him at his most forceful in the second half, when he produced some nice touches.

Kaoru Mitoma 7/10

A threat as Albion looked to get him in behind Walker – and kept him wide as the full-back tucked in. Played a big part in the equaliser and various other dangerous moments.

Danny Welbeck 7/10

Felt he was denied by a handball in the first half and again went very close with a free-kick. A team player who had a big hand in both goals.

SUBS- Carlos Baleba 9/10

Huerzeler got it spot-on and was pro-active with subs, starting with the game-changing introduction of Baleba, who grabbed proceedings by the scruff of the neck, winning and using the ball so well and contributing to a second-half mood of “we can do this”.

Matt O’Riley 8/10

Immediately got forward into attacking areas and made a great run for the well-taken winner. Welcome to the Prem.

Brajan Gruda 6/10

Sent on out wide as part of a tactical plan.

Joao Pedro 8/10

Was not put off by an ugly miss as he scored one goal, made another and made a triumphant return from injury. As often happens, he gave Albion something a bit different.

Jakub Moder N/A

Went on wide on the left to help see the win through.
