Albion could give their young midfield duo another chance to shine as they take on Manchester City.

Jack Hinshelwood and Yasin Ayari shone at Anfield, particularly in the first half.

Fabian Huerzeler felt they lost their way a little in the second 45 as Liverpool’s team and fans stepped up the heat.

He has Carlos Baleba available to play some part against City although it is not known whether he is ready to start.

Fans arriving at the Amex will also be keen to see whether Joao Pedro and Lewis Dunk are in the 20 – while Matt O’Riley has said he is ready to join the matchday squad.

Dunk was not spotted during a brief period of training which was open to the TV cameras on Thursday morning.

That all points to a line-up not at all dis-similar to that which kicked off at Anfield.

There was very little wrong with the starting XI Huerzeler used against Liverpool so he could stick with that but with scope for better use of, and more contribution from, his substitutes.

Albion possible XI: Verbruggen; Veltman, van Hecke, Igor, Estupinan; Hinshelwood, Ayari; Kadioglu (or Adingra), Rutter, Mitoma; Welbeck.
