A host of former footballers including World Cup winners Roberto Carlos and Gilberto Silva will grace a Sussex non-league ground for a charity match.

The former Real Madrid and Brazil left back will bring his attacking style of play to The Dripping Pan in Lewes, lining up alongside a host of former Premier League stars and footballing influencers.

The match, including Arsenal “Invincibles” Jens Lehmann and Silva, and Chelsea legend Dennis Wise, will raise money for mental health charity Calm.

Carlos, who won the World Cup in 2002 with Brazil, will be leading one team alongside former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva.

Other players confirmed for the match include Chelsea legend Dennis Wise and former Manchester United defender Danny Simpson.

Lehmann, Silva and Jeremie Aliadiere, who is also playing, were all members of the Arsenal “Invincibles” team – the only team to win the Premier League without losing a game.

The StriveAid match, set up by social media platform Striver, will also include a number of internet stars.

The match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 17 at The Dripping Pan in Lewes during the international break.

The match will be held in benefit of Calm, a suicide prevention charity.
