Wolves boss Gary O’Neil insists his side are “ready to fight” no matter the circumstance as they face another tricky test at the Amex.
The Wanderers are still searching for their first win and were denied their second point of the season at the death in last week’s defeat to Manchester City courtesy of John Stones’ late header.
That result left Wolves languishing bottom of the Premier League still with just one point despite scoring in all but one of their eight games so far.
O’Neil told a press conference: “We’re ready to fight, no matter what.
“As you could see with the supporters against Manchester City, when we had to dig in and fight and scrap for basically all of the game, they’re right there with us.
“That will continue to be the case with the club, the team, myself, the staff, we will all just continue to fight and push, and this weekend is a great opportunity for us to go and show that again.”
Wolves have had a tough start to the season with fixtures against City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Aston Villa coming among the first eight and it does not get easier with Brighton having started strongly under Fabian Huerzeler.
The Seagulls come into the match having won two on the bounce and are currently fifth.
“It will be a great test for us,” O’Neil added.
“I’m looking forward to taking the lads into battle there again, and going there against whatever people may think our chances are, and just putting on a real rugged display.
“It’ll be a good game, I’m sure it will. Another big test, they’ve got lots of attacking talent in the 11 and on the bench, so we’re going to need to be right at our best again to give ourselves a chance of taking three points.”
