Danny Welbeck hopes to train this week after his injury scare at Newcastle.
The Albion striker suffered a back problem during the 1-0 win and was stretchered off.
He had treatment at Newcastle Royal Infirmary, which is just a few yards from St James’ Park, as team-mates waited for him to join them on the trip home.
Albion posted a photo of him on the BA flight heading south last night.
In a social media update this evening, Welbeck wrote: “Still a bit sore, but after some extra checks and a scan today, I’m pleased to say I should be back in training soon, hopefully this week.
“Thanks to our medical staff and Newcastle Royal Infirmary A&E for their care and professionalism. Also to the boys for waiting for me to get home!
“Huge three points.”
Welbeck received treatment on the pitch for several minutes after going down following what looked an innocuous contact with opponent Fabian Schar.
There was a hush around the ground as he was tended to by medical staff.
Albion fans then sang his name and home supporters applauded as he was carried from the pitch.
