Albion are hoping for good news on Danny Welbeck – after he scored the winner at Newcastle and was later stretchered off.
The striker combined brilliantly with Georginio Rutter to secure a precious 1-0 success at St James’ Park. He left the field after appearing to take a knee in the back.
Albion weathered pressure from Toon, with Bart Verbruggen making several fine saves, notably from Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon.
The line from some of the locals here was Eddie Howe missing out to a German coach for the second time this week! Huerzeler certainly played his cards expertly and Albion rode a couple of storms for a big result. Here is my audio review.#bhafc . https://t.co/3Br6il9UlO

The win was also a tactical triumph for Fabian Huerzeler, who made several positional, tactical and in-gam changes, and was celebrated by noisy away fans high in the top tier.
Huerzeler said Welbeck will have a scan and added: “Hopefully it’s not that bad but we can’t be sure about that.”
A smiling Welbeck was on the team flight home this evening and said to be a bit battered and bruised.
The Albion boss added: “The old phrase is defence wins championships and it’s true."
