Elisabeth Terland will return to the Amex on a high after scoring twice for Manchester United – including a superb volley.

Last season’s Albion top-scorer spearheaded an impressive 3-0 victory at home to Tottenham.

That result edged United above the Seagulls in the table to third place.

That sets things up perfectly for their trip to the Amex on Saturday, when they look to extend their 100% record so far.

United boss Marc Skinner said: “She slows the moment under the most immense pressure. That's the beauty of her.

"Ellen White was the same. In the moments when it counted, Ellen had this calmness to finish.

“She's a real positive player and someone I know we can take from strength to strength,” Skinner said of Terland's composure in front of goal.

Terland opened the scoring with a technically superb right-foot volley which flew in via the crossbar.

She later added a classic downward header at the far post.

Skinner said: “If you ever want to watch how to volley a ball from a side-on position, under pressure, that goal today - it's a fantastic hit.

“If we can get her in those positions, she'll score many, many goals for us.

"Teri is one of those people in the box that knows the right time, the right spaces, she's already precalculated and I just think she's an incredible talent.

"She is a person who is always focused. When we played against her last year, I felt that in the box she was deadly - so we kept her out of the box.

“I felt that we could get her into those spaces to score goals."

Former Albion defender Maya Le Tissier completed the scoring by converting a penalty.

That goal was enough to edge United above the Seagulls by one goal with a game in hand.

They have yet to concede a goal, a run Albion will look to end at the Amex.

Tickets priced £12 for adults and £6 concessions remain on sale via the club’s website.
