Bruna has her first Albion goal – and it was the winner at Crystal Palace.

But it was not the first important goal involvement of her season on loan from FC Barcelona.

Bruna pounced for the only goal on Sunday after the Palace goalkeeper failed to hold a cross.

She had started the match on the right but got into the heart of the penalty area for her precious finish.

Albion believe they have a player with great potential in the 22-year-old, who scored earlier this year on her senior Spain debut.

She started the season with Albion operating in midfield and combined with fellow Catalan Vicky Losada in the move for the second goal in a 4-0 win over Everton in the opening fixture.

WHY THERE IS MORE TO COME FROM AWARD-WINNER KIKO SEIKE

Speaking after that match, head coach Dario Vidosic told The Argus: “She has got a lot of room for improvement.

“She is a very good footballer – technically very good.

“Now we are just trying to get her an understanding.

“She has come from Barcelona with their brand of football. We are trying to get those qualities and let her show what she can do on a matchday.

“She is still young, still learning. She has probably not played as many games as he would have loved to.

“That is not always easy when you play at Barcelona and you have players at a very high level who are in front of you.

“There’s no doubting her quality and how good she is.

“We are trying to get her into positions where she can be a danger to teams.

“That second goal (against Everton) was a perfect example of that, in those pockets, where she can turn and drive at defences.”

Although there was not much of the latter at Palace, she will be delighted to be off the mark.

And, with players such as Kiko Seike coming off the bench and Aisha Masaka not playing, Albion clearly have attacking options.
