Dario Vidosic says this week has been one to enjoy.

But he believes his high-flying Albion side can still improve as they prepare to visit Crystal Palace at Sutton today (2pm).

The first WSL meeting between the two clubs has been made possible by Palace’s promotion last season.

Their torrid start, including a 7-0 home hammering by Chelsea, suddenly took a turn for the better when they won at Leicester last Sunday.

That is a timely warning for Albion, who are third in the table with six points from nine.

But they have shown they can come through more testing times as well during their 4-2 win at home to Aston Villa last Saturday.

There were stages in that game when it looked like they might not add to their big opening win over Everton.

But they weathered those moments, including when Villa got back to 2-2, and pulled away again through Fran Kirby’s penalty and a late Michelle Agyemang strike.

Head coach Vidosic told The Argus: “Probably not just at 2-2 but I thought in the whole game we were not able to take full control.

“We would make a couple of tactical errors and that would slow us down and stop our rhythm to the game.

“We had had a gruelling week and finished it against a tough opponent.

“That is something we want to learn from and get better.

“That we pin teams in for a little bit longer.

“We knew the strength they have in transition and, if you give their frontline opportunities, they will punish you.

“But we hung in the game. We knew at 2-2 it’s in the balance and are waiting for that opportunity.”

And so on to Palace. It is a rivalry which is often played down on the men’s side.

Things are different in the WSL where it can be used as a way to promote and grow the fanbase.

Vidosic said: “They have got some really interesting rotations that they like to use in the wide areas.

“They have got some very good players up front who combine well.

“The goal against Leicester is a great example of that.

“They caused Chelsea some problems as well.

“They probably got caught against Chelsea in that transition moment and that changed the shape of the game.

“It is going to be tough. They have got a lot of things we have got to be worried about.

“But we are confident if we play our football, then we try to limit those opportunities that they have.

“But we have to be switched on for the full game.”
