Mats Wieffer says he is up to speed with Premier League football.
But he has spoken of the big tactical change he found from the Eredivisie after signing for Albion this summer.
The former Feyenoord midfielder is back with the Holland squad after recovering from injury.
He is finding his feet in the Prem but looks back to day one at Everton, where Albion won 3-0, as part of his education.
Speaking at the Holland training camp, he said: “I know every Dutch player says when they make the step to the Premier League, the pace of the game, the high press, everything is on another level.
“Another big difference is the way of playing “In Holland, every team wants to have possession and wants to build-up.
“With Brighton I played my first game against Everton.
“That club didn’t even think about build-up. They played long balls into corners.
“The game went up and down the pitch.
“That was totally different to what I was used to in Holland.
“There is always pressure on the ball in the Premier League.”
Wieffer says he is competing with Carlos Baleba for playing time.
But he added: “I feel I am getting better. There is no problem on the conditioning level.”
Holland visit Hungary on Friday and then Germany on Monday, both in the UEFA Nations League.
