Fabian Huerzeler said he trusts his medical staff to get his central defenders back in action.
Adam Webster went off early in the win over Tottenham with what looked like a hamstring issue.
Jan Paul van Hecke is still out with a groin problem and will miss international action over the next fortnight.
But it is not thought he will be out for a lengthy period.
Igor did a good job as sub against Spurs, as he did over a shorter period at Chelsea, alongside Lewis Dunk.
But Albion’s centre-back options beyond that are very limited.
Huerzeler said Webster had a muscular problem, without going into detail.
The Albion head coach said: “We don’t know it yet. We have to do a scan and then we have a clear situation about him.
“But I completely trust my medical department and the. They will do a great job to bring these defenders back as quickly as possible.”
Joel Veltman can play centre-back while Carlos Baleba had half a game in that role in pre-season.
