Pascal Gross has bid an emotional goodbye to Albion fans at the Amex today.

The hugely popular midfielder returned ahead of the Tottenham game to say thank you and goodbye to fans after his summer switch to Borussia Dortmund.

Gross and fans did not get chance to say their farewell before his transfer.

Coming out on the pitch to applause, the 33-year-old said: "It feels amazing after seven special years to say goodbye to the fans that supported us every game

"I never dreamed of staying in the Premier League and playing in Europe."

When asked what he would like to say to the fans, Gross replied: "Thank you for everything. You've been unbelievable. I want to thankyou and goodbye. Let's win this game!"

With Dortmund playing yesterday, Gross was able to visit his former footballing home.

Gross was interviewed pitchside ten minutes before the 4.30pm kick-off on Sunday.

The last of his 30 Premier League goals came at Tottenham last season.

Gross was Brighton’s first signing following the club’s promotion to the Premier League in 2018 for a bargain £2.5m from FC Ingolstadt 04. He went on to make 261 appearances, for the Seagulls with 32 goals and 52 assists.

Gross has been a regular in the Dortmund midfield this season and helped them thrash Celtic 7-1 in the Champions League in midweek.
