Dario Vidosic saw his Albion side end a gruelling week in style – and gave them two days off.

The Seagulls were impressive 4-2 winners at home to Aston Villa in the Barclays WSL at Broadfield Stadium.

It was a great way to end a week which saw them visit Manchester City and Birmingham.

They move to six WSL points after winning both home games so far.

Head coach Vidosic said: “To be that brave to play under the fatigue that I am sure they were all feeling is very proud for me as coach after such a short period of time, that they can show that resilience.

“It would be easy to just go long but they still looked for those options, still tried to play and at times we played some really nice stuff and that created our opportunities to eventually find the winning goals.

“They will get their two days now – well-deserved two days off.

“But, as much as they will look forward to that, I think they also look forward to coming in.”

Albion led 2-1 at half-time through Nikita Parris’s first goal for the club and Pauline Bremer after Rachel Daly had opened the scoring for Villa.

Parris pounced at the near post after Poppy Pattinson cut the ball back.

The England international then slid through the pass for Bremer to fire home a first-time left-footed finish.

Daly levelled with a penalty after a mis-control and then foul by Guro Bergsvand.

Fran Kirby scored from the spot after Villa’s Paula Tomas elbowed Kiko Seike and was sent off.

That appeared to have put the balance firmly in Albion’s favour but they lost Pattinson to a very soft second yellow in added time when she was adjudged to have delayed a restart.

Albion survived a couple of testing moments at the back before releasing Michelle Agyemang to fire a superb low finish inside the far post.
