Killian Cahill made two penalty saves to help Albion history repeat itself at Woking.
His two stops in a shoot-out, both low to his left, gave the Seagulls’ under-21s an extra point in the newly-introduced National League Cup.
Albion drew 2-2 with their National League opponents having led 2-0 until the closing stages.
The result mirrored Albion’s visit to Woking in the FA Cup 14 years ago, when they drew 2-2 and then won on penalties in a first-round replay.
Last night’s outcome gives the Seagulls two points and Woking one.
Josh Duffus continued his recent good run as he cut inside and wrong-footed the keeper with a low shot.
Ruairi McConville headed home from a tight angle from Harry Howell’s corner early in the second half.
But Woking struck two late goals to secure their point.
With regular penalty-taker Howell off the field, Jamie Mullins, Caylan Vickers, Jacob Slater and Remiero Moulton scored from the spot.
Albion visit Aldershot in the same competition on November 5.
Albion under-21s: Cahill, Tasker, Simmonds, McConville (Penman 84), Ifill (Bashir 84), Knight (Albarus 73), Mullins, Slater, Vickers, Howell (Moulton 73), Duffus (Flower 60).
